Mid-Career Engineers: DLR Group's Retention Tips at NCSEA
Senior Associate and Professional Engineer Geoff Leewaye, PE, will take part in the 2026 National Council of Structural Engineers Associations summit on an expert panel focused on helping structural engineers, particularly those in the middle stages of their careers, navigate common professional challenges.
He joins fellow members of the NCSEA Structural Engineering Engagement and Equity Committee for “Retention of Mid-Career Professionals: A Data-Driven Discussion,” an interactive session examining work-life balance, career satisfaction, and long-term trends shaping the structural engineering profession.
Geoff will participate alongside Curtis Siegfried, senior project engineer with JVA Consulting Engineers, and Jordan Jarrett, teaching associate professor at Colorado State University. Their panel will be held on Thursday, Oct. 29th from 10:45 AM to 11:45 AM.
Designed as a companion to “Retention of Early-Career Professionals,” the session builds on findings from the 2025 SE3 Survey, exploring how workplace priorities, retention challenges, employee engagement, and career satisfaction evolve throughout an engineer’s professional journey.
Geoff has spent more than a dozen years in the design industry, contributing to a portfolio that includes K-12 campuses, power facilities in high-seismic regions, and structural retrofits nationwide. He also leads DLR Group’s Pride Employee Resource Group and serves on the SE3 Committee within the Structural Engineers Association of Colorado.
